SKU SYSTEM & CONFIGURATION LOGIC
Every part is identifiable. Every configuration is traceable. Every revision is controlled.
Infinity Skies operates under a unified SKU and configuration control system designed to support modular interoperability, revision traceability, and long-term platform scalability across products, systems, and customer programs.
If it cannot be identified, it cannot be scaled.
1. Scope & Purpose
Document Reference: IS-SKU-001
This standard defines how all Infinity Skies products, assemblies, kits, and systems are named, configured, serialized, revised, and referenced across engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, and documentation.
- Applies to all private-label products
- Applies to modular components and systems
- Applies to standalone SKUs and configurable families
- Applies to physical and digital documentation
2. Core Principles
- One SKU equals one unique configuration state
- SKUs encode function, form, and interface compatibility
- Configuration logic is deterministic, not descriptive
- Revisions do not change SKU root identity
3. SKU Structure Overview
All Infinity Skies SKUs follow a fixed, parseable structure.
IS-[FAMILY]-[SUBTYPE]-[SIZE]-[MATERIAL]-[CONFIG]-[REV]| Segment | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| IS | Infinity Skies identifier | IS |
| FAMILY | Product family | IP, SL, EN |
| SUBTYPE | Functional subtype | BP, AD, FX |
| SIZE | Nominal size or envelope | 1212, 2424 |
| MATERIAL | Primary material | AL6061 |
| CONFIG | Configuration code | G25 |
| REV | Revision | R01 |
4. Product Family Codes
| Code | Family |
|---|---|
| IP | Interface Plates |
| SL | Sliding / Motion Interfaces |
| EN | Enclosure Interfaces |
| TP | Tube & Pipe Interfaces |
| FX | Fixture & Tooling |
| DB | Datum & Reference Blocks |
| SH | Shop Hardware |
| SYS | Integrated Systems |
5. Size & Form Encoding
Size codes represent nominal envelope dimensions, not exact machined dimensions.
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 1212 | 12 × 12 nominal |
| 1818 | 18 × 18 nominal |
| 2424 | 24 × 24 nominal |
| CSTM | Custom envelope |
6. Material & Finish Encoding
| Code | Material / Finish |
|---|---|
| AL6061 | Aluminum 6061-T6 |
| AL7075 | Aluminum 7075 |
| STL4140 | Steel 4140 |
| ANCLR | Clear Anodize |
| ANBLK | Black Anodize |
Finish codes may be appended or encoded within the configuration segment when required.
7. Configuration Logic
Configuration codes define hole patterns, interface grids, mounting standards, and optional features.
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
| G25 | 25mm grid |
| G50 | 50mm grid |
| BLK | Blank (no holes) |
| CSTM | Customer-specific configuration |
Configuration changes generate new SKUs, not revisions.
Kits & Assemblies
Assemblies and kits receive their own SKUs independent of child components.
- Assembly SKU references BOM
- Child SKUs retain independent revision control
- Assembly revision does not override child revisions
Relationship to Other Standards
- Unified Modular Mechanical Standard
- Tolerances & Quality Standard
- Materials & Finishes Standard
- Master Modular Product List (MMPLS-001)
Configuration Governance
All deviations, extensions, or customer-specific encoding must be approved by Infinity Skies Engineering.
